Vanderhoven7,
Are you amillennial?
a poster wrote to me privately, and brought to my attention the following comment below i made a while back in regards to the 144,00 number of revelation.
i had casually conjectured that this number was likely symbolic in line with the book of revelation being mostly symbolic in kind.
he brought up this juicy source:.

Unless it tells you otherwise, ALL of the bible is literal . Symbolism supports an elite class. Try reading the bible without all the symbolism and it will really open things up and reveal the errors.
For instance, there will literally be 144K male Jewish virgins that will evangelize the world during the Great Tribulation. Their message will be the good news of god's kingdom that is about to manifest.
This explains why Christians are preaching the "ministry of reconciliation" while JW's are preaching the good news of the kingdom.... they are out of season for this message.
The apostles never preached the good news of the kingdom.... they preached the ministry of reconciliation. JW's do not preach this. If we preach another gospel that the apostles didn't preach, we are cursed according to scripture. (Gal. 1: 8-9)
i have run across another jw death where the final wishes are for no service.
3rd or 4th instance.
another wanted a celebration of life which the elders squelched as far as i know.
I've seen this trend and have personally experienced it. I believe this is an attempt to avoid exposure. The WT has weaponized family members against each other. They have caused an unbelievable amount of damage and hurt to people. Old time JW's are embarrassed that some of their kids have left and joined real churches. If they don't have a funeral, they can always later tell shunned family members that they weren't singled out, and that "there was no funeral".
Later, just the JW's can get together amongst themselves and regurgitate WT delusions about waking up in paradise petting Panda bears. I mean just imagine the discomfort that would be caused if someone showed up and casually quoted Hebrews 9: 27 or Rev. 20: 5 during a conversation. Imagine someone asking the test question: "What congregation do you go to", and they get the answer, "I go to Lighthouse Baptist Church". Too embarrassing.
JW families are not the monolithic edifices they once were. They are crumbling and MANY former members are going elsewhere, not the least of which is "the whore of Babylon". Oh! The family shame.
has anyone heard actual evidence that they are or are not?.
(besides the absurdity of thier actions that the local elders would have to let slide).
do they even claim to be witneses anymore?.
Anyone know for sure one way or another?

I lost it when she said that her "gardener Javier nicknamed me Karenito. It means he cares."
well judging from past prophetic pronouncements....go figure.
"surely there is not the slightest room for doubt in the mind of a truly consecrated child of god that the lord jesus is present and has been since 1874;…" watchtower 1924 jan 1 p.5).
"the prophecy of the bible, fully supported by the physical facts in fulfillment thereof, shows that the second coming of christ dates from the fall of the year 1914.

sadly today, many churches and religious organisations teach their followers that they are saved based on something the bible does not record.
many people are following a lie, and are heading to a lost eternity and do not know it.. my question here is... are you saved?
it's vitally important to know!.
saved from what ?
@stanlivedeath - Judgment AFTER you die. Hebrews 9: 27 is a verse I never heard quoted at the KH even once in the decades I was a JW.
for those of you who still respect the bible, which translation/s are you using now?
why?.
A Textus Receptus based bible is what I mostly use. Otherwise, you'll be missing around 3000 Greek words from the NT. These include:
1. King James Version - KJV
2. King James Version ER (Easy Reader) - KJV - ER
3. New King James Version - NKJV
4. Modern English Version - MEV
5. Green's Literal Translation - GLT
6. Third Millennium Bible - TMB
7. New Cambridge Paragraph Bible - 2005 edition of the KJV (paragraph format with modernized spelling)
8. 21st Century King James Bible
